Hair By Natalie gets new look in major overhaul as it reopens

The team at Hair By Natalie remained busy during lockdown to refurbish the salon and ensure staff and clients are kept safe, once business was allowed to resume after Coronavirus restrictions were lifted.

Owner Natalie Smith and family, together with employee, Ellee Rowley, have worked hard on the major project to completely revamp the Bassingbourn-based hair and beauty salon and are so far delighted with the response they’ve had from the community.

Structural work was included as part of the refurbishment – to enlarge the premise’s footprint, increasing hair stations from four to a very comfortable five and a new location for the sinks.

Once the building work was completed, the salon was treated to a fresh lick of paint, new chairs and equipment.

To help protect clients and staff, Hair By Natalie have installed safety screens on reception, stocked up on biodegradable gowns, towels, and gloves, and installed hand sanitisers both inside and outside the shop.

A hair By Natalie gold-standard hygiene code will see staff do self-temperature checks daily, surfaces and chairs will be sanitised and disinfected after each use, and there will be regular cleaning. Staff also wear industry- approved masks and visors at all times.

Natalie says of the reopening: “We’re so pleased to be back serving our clients and are proud of how safe we have made our salon.

Our client’s safety, and that of our staff, is paramount, so our clients can be fully assured that we have carefully put strict procedures into place and follow them rigorously. For example, every hair brush and comb is sanitised and individually wrapped, for added protection.

The response we’ve had from our clients is extremely positive. We’ve even acquired new clients due to other salons not cutting the grade with regards to safety and following the strict guidelines.

Not only do they feel comfortable when they come here, but they also say how beautiful and spacious our salon now is.
